ABOUT

Rod & Laura Howard

TowneEstate@gmail.com

Towne Estate & Vineyard has been in our family for 3 generations. Laura was born here and grew up with her three siblings in the Walnut Grove Community. In 1943, Laura's grandparents purchased the home from the original owners who built the Sears & Roebuck house selected from their catalogue back in 1925. It’s been a magical place to create memories for almost 80 years and we are thrilled to now share it with you.

We love evening dinners on the back patio, soccer and frisbee on the front lawn, and using the spacious living room for movie nights.

Just down the road… you can rent boats or jet skis to enjoy the Sacramento Delta, which Towne Estates rests directly beside.

Let us connect you with our winey partners: Heringer Estates and Grand Island Vineyards, for a personable Delta wine tasting experience, or help you get in touch with our boat rental partner, Gary, to easily get your group onto the best places on the water, or direct you to our restaurant partners if you want a meal off the property. Our team can guide you to these options before you arrive, to prepare you for the best possible experience.

We've put a lot of love and care into the home to make it a wonderful place for a family getaway. Let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay perfect.

REVIEWS

The Towne Estate is a perfect retreat. Special moments and memories are created at this beautiful property and historic home. I felt that time slowed down and my spirit was encouraged. Our group enjoyed an outdoor lunch with the grills, and there was plenty of space for people to wander or have conversations. Just over an hour drive from San Francisco. Wonderful hospitality by the Howards.

Walnut Grove is just 90 minutes from our home in San Francisco. As we cross the Antioch Bridge, our spirits anticipate adventure and rest as we step back in time and into nature. The Towne property is a special place. Elegant and yet comfortable with stories of the past filled with hope and vision for the future. Nature surrounds the property and is accessible for play, yet constantly reminding us of a rhythm different from the city. Our family continues to make new memories with each visit.

We had an amazing stay at Towne Estate & Vineyards. From the moment we pulled in, we felt we were able to relax and unwind. The beautiful house and grounds are a jewel hidden from the main road. Each room was tastefully decorated. We loved staying in the canopy room! We can’t wait to return and bring our friends! Thank you, Katy, Rod and Laura, for making us feel so welcome!

We had a wonderful stay at the Towne Estate & Vineyard! A few highlights are the front sunroom which has a lot of natural light and was a great place to relax, read, or catch up with friends. There are so many different spaces for hosting large groups of people such as the dining room, living room, covered back patio, and shaded side patio which has two 6-person tables and strung lights under a magnificent tree the family's grandpa planted! The property is rich in history and character and is the perfect location for a relaxing and tranquil getaway, with everything you need already there! I would highly recommend giving it a try and hope to stay again soon!
